San Diego really epitomizes the aphorism “best of both worlds.” It has the year-round sun and coastal breeze, the beach and the bay, the city and the suburbs. Even if you aren’t interested in taking up residency, at the very least a looking into San Diego beach rentals is necessary. This is the prime vacation spot for even the most indecisive groups. While San Diego’s beach communities have developed a reputation for their surf culture and club scenes, this city has plenty to offer young pleasure-seekers and families alike.

Mission Beach is a popular choice for tourists, particularly because of its composite location by the bay and the beach. This offers an adequate representation of San Diego’s versatility without the time and costs of traveling throughout the entire county. Go for a stroll down the boardwalk and explore cafes, bars and vendors or take your children to the historic Belmont Park. San Diego’s own classic amusement park features an old-fashion roller coaster, carnival rides and the Pirates’ Cove play land to ensure fun for even your youngest ones. If you’re more interested in actually going into the water, look into some surfing lessons or go for a sail and try whale-watching. This area is also home to Sea World.

If you’re willing to drive a short way, not far away is San Diego’s famous Gaslamp District where you can indulge in a plethora of fine dining, clubs and other nightlife activities. For those more interested in the city’s history, you can pass through Old Town or take the bridge to Coronado to check out one of its well-known haunted houses and historical buildings. There is also Balboa Park, which has 19 different museums and gardens, including the nationally acclaimed San Diego Zoo.

Mission Beach vacation rentals aren’t all that expensive either, averaging at $2100 for a five to six-person time share, and you can generally find some specials and deals on sites such as missionbeach.com. San Francisco and Los Angeles don’t hold a candle to San Diego’s balanced, laidback and affordable atmosphere. So, if you’re planning a trip to the west coast, the choice is clear.
