If you are wanting to attract birds into your yard or garden with bird food, but because of the large variety of foods that are available it is confusing you. First you should start with buying some bird feeders, which you can find at almost any pet shop or even a garden store.

It is quite known that Birds of different types will choose to eat their food at different levels of height. Some will certainly like to eat from the ground below as many do while there are so many others that will choose to eat their food from a higher areas. Knowing this just place a few bird feeders around the yard or the garden with each of them at various heights. This will certainly cater to all of them.

Before ever purchasing a feeder, check or examine it to see if it is resistant to certain weather conditions, such as snow and rain and if so then it is safe to buy as the feeder will help to keep the food more fresher.

When it comes to bird food there are many you can choose from. But seeds seem to be popular for birds as they are quite easy for the birds to eat. Black sunflower works well with birds as they seem to love that kind the most. Keep the seeds in a cool and dry place when storing them so to preserve their freshness.

One seed that many kinds of birds seem to like a lot is suet, which is mixed with several berries and meat fat. Several types birds such as the woodpeckers, chickadees, blue jays and also the nuthatches just love these type of seeds.

Birds are also very fond of nectar, which you can create yourself just by using some water along with sugar. First Boil four parts of water and then add one part of sugar to it and mix it all together. Let it sit for a while or until it has cooled off. It will then be ready o be given to he birds for food.

The bright color of red seems to attract the humming birds, as it was always believed to be true. However, you can just use a red ribbon and tie it somewhere near to the bird feeder or as some people would do, grow some red colored flowers. These are some good ideas to get the attention of birds to come into your backyard or garden where you can then begin to enjoy their company as they will begin to enjoy the food.
