The success or failure of your eBay store ultimately depends on the amount of traffic you generate to it. Listings in your eBay Store will generally receive fewer visitors as they are not displayed at the top of any keyword search results, which is why it is so important to use any method you can to promote your store items. Here are several free and easy methods of promoting your eBay store.

1. Email -
Email can be a great way of getting traffic to your store. It’s free and takes almost no additional time to do. If you’ve been selling on eBay for a while you’ve probably noticed that you are often emailing customers with invoices and other payment requests etc. Well why not use theses emails as an opportunity to offer them similar items

Using a simple email program such as Outlook Express, you can create a “signature” which will automatically be displayed in every email you send. To do this using Outlook Express click Tools >> Options >> Signatures. Your signature could look something like this:

==================================================
Get 100s of eBooks for less than a dollar - Visit My eBay Store Here
==================================================

You could also include this signature in your winning bidder emails if you notify a customer when they have bought an item from you. You could encourage them to buy similar items or offer them an added incentive like a reduced price. If a customer has already bought one item from you, what's to stop them buying another?

2. Blogging -
A “blog” is a sort of online journal or diary that you keep and enter your daily activities. In this blog you can enter your thoughts, ideas, reviews, tasks or anything else you want. The idea is to keep it all related to your specific business. You could for example keep a blog of what you have done today to promote your business. Many sites offer free blogs where you can sign up and include links back to your web site or eBay store.

Keep your blog fresh and up to date by posting frequent entries and you’ll find it will soon become an excellent source of free traffic.

3. Articles -
Submitting articles is another excellent way to generate a lot of free traffic to your website or eBay store. There are absolutely hundreds of free article directories on the Internet that only require you to spend a few minutes signing up. Once a member you can then submit as many articles as you wish to your profile. Keeping in mind that these articles should of course be related in some way to the goods you are selling at your eBay store.

The way in which articles allow you to generate traffic to your site is via a “resource box”. A resource box is allocated to each article you submit and provides you with the opportunity to include a back link to your site or eBay store. As many of these articles can find their way onto top search engines you’d be surprised at how many views they receive, which in turn will hopefully pass these visitors onto your site.
