Data is the most important thing for professional as well as individual users and it is very essential to save them otherwise it may destroy your business. According the statistics of various researches, almost half of data loss is occurs only due to hard drive crash.

So, as a safeguard, you can prevent your half of data loss only by preventing hard drive crash. To prevent it, it is most important to know that what are the reasons of hard drive crash and how can you prevent it.

Basically, hard drives can undergo one of the two circumstances of failure:

1. Expected ones, when some failure modes like aging and mechanical wear, happen by and by over time. In these situations, when the temperature of the drive increases, it may cause hard drive crash.
2. Unexpected ones, when some other failures can occur unexpectedly and suddenly like and electronic component failing.

Any of these situations, may cause hard drive crash and finally data loss. To prevent it, you need for hard drive evaluation.

Hard Drive Evaluation:

Hard drive evaluation is the process of monitoring the hard drive performance. In this process, user monitors that drive temperature, processing speed and uses of hard drive. It is a pre crash process to keep your hard drive from safe.

The technology used for hard drive is known as S.M.A.R.T. (Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology). This is the hard drive monitoring system for hard drives to identify and report on several indicators of dependability, in expect of anticipating failures.

Hard drive evaluation is generally done with the help of special data recovery software based on S.M.A.R.T. technology. These software works as an “early warning system” for avoiding hard drive problems. These software monitor the hard drive performance and consider whether the hard drive is working normally or not. The software provides the complete information about different drive parameters like Temperature, spin-up time and head flying height and compares them to the entry value below/above which the drive can fail.

Though, these software works in most of the conditions, but in case when they fail to warn you or after warning you don’t shut down your system, a hard drive crash may occur and can cause the serious data loss. In these situation of data loss, you shouldn’t further use your computer.
