Learning How To Be a Better Putter can be difficult when you don't know how to. There are three keys that tell you how to be a better putter. It is best to keep the same technique when you put, if you keep changing the way the put, you can confuse yourself on what you're doing.

The distance and feel is what you would want to focus on more than the stroke and line. When you focus on the distance you know how far you need to put, and if you get the feel of the club you will find it easier to put. Another downfall for a new putter is sometimes they don't have confidence in what they are doing. Confidence helps you focus better and be positive on where and how far you're putting.

A few other ideas that may help you out are reading the green. The space between you ball and cup or goal, can help you out if you know what to do. Some tips on knowing where your ball will go is taking your time. Don't feel bad when the pro's don't take as long, they know what they are doing. Getting your eye level with the ball may help you see where you need to hit the ball in order for it to go where you need it to go.

Take into note if the grass is wet or dry, when wet, your ball can actually go 9 to 13 inches further than it would on dry. How the grass is cut can even effect where your golf ball goes. Believe it or not the grass can be cut unevenly so be sure you check when you line your shot up. These basic tips can get you started on to being a pro.
