Sir Christopher Wren, famous Architect, was born in Wiltshire in 1632. After the Great Fire of London (1666) he prepared an abortive plan for rebuilding London, but he did in fact, rebuild St. Pauls, and more then fifty other city churches, including St. Stephen, Walbrook, and St. Mary-le-Bow.

His other works include Chelsea Hospital, portions of Greenwich Hospital, the Sheldonian Theatre, Oxford and the Queens College Library, Oxford. He had wide spread scientific interests (He was professor of mathematics at Gresham College, London, and professor of astronomy at Oxford.) He also helped to Found the Royal Society.

For anyone interested in history, London is seeped with history, the above only being the tip of the iceberg. St Pauls Cathedral is one of the most popular visits for tourists, and a landmark that proudly stands out among all the other historical building. All the pictures we see of it, do not do it justice. To visit it, and see it up close for ourselves is an experience that will not be forgotton for a long time.

With all the other historical architecture London has to offer, and the wonderful restaurants and theatres, it is completely impossible to do it in a day. Fortunately London also offers some of the best hotels. More and more people are turning to the budget hotels, as they offer good service, and are excellent value for money, and are situated within easy travelling distance to most of Londons big attractions.

Whether you are interested in history, the arts, or just want a memorable shopping expedition, an overnight stay will help you plan your visit to the full, leaving you time to relax, savour the delights of the day, and ensure you are fresh to continue your travelling.
